Now I understand why I keep seeing old work uploaded by the Deviants I watch. Every time I have to find something on my computer I shake loose old art. Usually I just let old pieces stay in the past. I cease to be excited about an illustration as soon as it's done. I just move on. But there's a lack of color work on my front page, and I'm holding what I'm working on pretty close to my chest right now soo.... Here's some old work.
This is something I did for caricature class a long time ago. My teacher kept trying to complicate it. I stuck to my guns. The only real failing I see is that it looks like it's a digital piece pretending to be organic instead of really feeling organic. That's my big problem with photoshop... It begs people to waste days, even weeks sometimes trying to make digital paintings feel authentic by layering textures and making goofy brushes when ultimately it would be quicker and easier to just whip out some paint and do it for real. At school the facilities closed super early so if you wanted to paint you would have to take the time to set up your paints 2-3 times a day so I ended up relying on ps for that reason. Now I'm in Norway and the only art tools I could manage to bring were my computer and some general drawing stuff. I find myself relying on Photoshop again despite my general distaste for it.
Anyway... That's way more words than this piece deserves.
Hmm i love nouveau art or art noveau i dont remember the right order.
I like the color sheme its quite diferent from the orangy tones most artists use.
I think photoshop is a handy tool for you to use, but sometimes it can becfome quite complicated to find right textures to make it look traditional and unique but its qorth it the4 possibilities you have to manippulate your qork in so many ways so i like photoshop very , much but i like gettig my hands dirty traditionally i think its a pleasure to do it and let your emotions out ont he clear open.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
